Where’s the Friction?
New Show! Where’s the Friction?
Where’s the Friction picks up where the Culture of Convenience podcast left off. Jeff Kahler explores why work gets stuck, what leaders often miss, and how organizations can replace friction with clarity. Same purpose. Sharper focus.
Every episode brief digs into where multi-unit leaders are stuck, what is causing it, and what to actually do about it.
After twenty years building Ready Training Online, Jeff Kahler exited in 2025 and turned Culture of Convenience into a full business services operation. The podcast asked the questions. The business finds the answers.
The tools changed. The mission never did. Whether it was a pizzeria, a training platform, or the operators he works alongside today, the real work has always been the same. Helping leaders close the gap between the operation they designed and the one their team can actually deliver.

About the Host – Jeff Kahler
Jeff’s story starts in a pizzeria at fifteen, and by eighteen, he bet everything and purchased it. What followed was decades of learning how to run a business the way it’s actually learned, on the floor, one hard lesson at a time.
In 2005, after running into the same training challenges over and over again in his own stores, he founded Ready Training Online, a training platform built for frontline workers across convenience stores, restaurants, and retail, to solve exactly that. Twenty years and countless operators later, he exited in 2025 and turned his attention fully to Culture of Convenience.
Jeff holds a master’s degree in friction, and he means it. He has created it, missed it, fixed it, and paid for it, across four decades in business.
That is exactly why he built a company around finding it in other people’s operations before it costs them a customer, a team member, or another exhausting year.
When Jeff is not working with operators or recording an episode of Where’s the Friction, he is usually thinking about the same question a different way: where is the right thing harder than it needs to be, and what would it take to fix that.
